Nasi Serpang Recipe

Fluffy Rice Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Maknyuss Rice
  • 3 cups water

Krecek (Spicy Crackers Stew) Ingredients:

  • 8 shallots
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 3 candlenuts
  • 8 red chilies, boiled
  • ½ tsp shrimp paste
  • 50 ml water
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 lemongrass stalk, bruised
  • 100 g tofu, diced and fried
  • 300 g cow skin crackers (krecek)
  • 50 g black-eyed peas
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 2 tsp flavor enhancer
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp palm sugar
  • 100 ml coconut milk
  • 800 ml water

Side Dishes:

  • Spicy stir-fried clams (balado style)
  • Grated coconut serundeng
  • Fried vermicelli
  • Salted egg
  • Beef lung chips
  • Peanut crackers

How to Make:

  1.  Wash Maknyuss Rice once, cook until fluffy, and set aside.
  2.  Sauté the blended spices, add aromatic ingredients, water, and coconut milk. Add the krecek and tofu, then adjust the taste. Cook until well blended.
  3.  Serve the fluffy rice with krecek and all the side dishes.
