
Bogana Rice Recipe
Ingredients for Savory Rice:
- 400 g Maknyuss Rice
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp seasoning powder
- 3 pandan leaves, tied into a knot
- 400 ml thin coconut milk
- 400 ml water
Ingredients for Yellow Chicken Opor:
- 10 shallots
- 5 cloves garlic
- 5 candlenuts
- 2 cloves turmeric
- 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger
- 2 thumb-sized pieces of galangal
- 1 tbsp coriander
- 3 bay leaves
- 3 kaffir lime leaves
- 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
- 500 ml water
- 100 ml thick coconut milk
Side Dishes:
- Fried anchovies with peanuts
- Potato liver sambal
- Stir-fried green beans
- Marinated boiled eggs
How to Make:
- Rinse Maknyuss Rice once, then mix all savory rice ingredients and cook until done, set aside.
- Sauté the blended spices, add the remaining ingredients, and stir until fragrant. Add the chicken and simmer briefly with the spices. Pour in the coconut milk and water, then cook until the yellow chicken opor is done.
- Serve the savory rice with chicken opor and side dishes.
